Winner of the Daily Telegraph Homebuilding and Renovating Awards 2018
Meadowmead Wins Gold!
This Autumn we were all delighted to learn that Meadowmead, the innovative barn style home (recently built for Ben and Merry Albright) had been awarded the Best Traditional Self Build accolade in the annual Daily Telegraph/Homebuilding and Renovating Awards. The Herefordshire home was also awarded the Overall National Winner prize in the prestigious competitionĀ - which celebrates the very best projects across the UK
Border Oak are thrilled and honoured to have won two incredible awards, especially as we are reliably informed that the judging panel (consisting of industry big wigs, architects such as Charlie Luxton and media editors) tried very hard to be super critical given that Merry and Ben work at Border Oak! However they couldn't help but be impressed by the end result (which is very much an normal family home) and the build quality and attention to detail. They also recognised the epic planning battle that the family endured for two years!
Each year these awards showcase the very best self build & custom build projects, providing inspiration for those hoping to build their own home - and Border Oak are very, very proud to have been judged the best of the best. The Awards are the ultimate 'thank you' to everyone who supported the project and worked on the house
A full case study of the house features in theĀ December issue of Homebuilding & Renovating magazine
