Border Oak - oak framed houses, oak framed garages and structures.

Chedhams Yard 8

Chedhams Yard is a prize winning Heritage site which has recently been restored and is now open to the public.

Hidden away in the Warwickshire Countryside is this Blacksmith's and Wheelwright's workshop dating from the early 19th century.

Chedham's Yard was run by 5 generations of the Chedham family (the last, Bill, retired in 1993), and was  crammed with tools, equipment and items all made on site, along with the materials to make them.

In 2006 the yard beat churches, chapels and a gallery on the BBC TV programme 'Restoration Village'. A much needed injection of funding was provided by BBC Restoration and the Heritage Lottery Fund to help restore the yard and workshop to their original working state.

Border Oak were delighted to be asked to provide an oak framed building for a tourist information space.
